Gordon D’Arcy suffered a calf muscle tear in the Pro-12 semi-final against Glasgow at the weekend and Ian Madigan is likely to take his place. Leinster are hopeful that most of their first choice players will be available. Sean O’Brien, Dave Kearney, Richardt Strauss, Leo Cullen, Kevin McLaughlin and Fergus McFadden should all be fit, as should Brian O’Driscoll, who hurt his back against Glasgow.

Stade rested many of their first team players in their final Top 14 game so have a full squad to choose from. The biggest selection headache for coach Richard Pool-Jones is who to start at fly-half. Jules Plisson seems likely to get the nod ahead of Paul Warwick. Italy’s hero Sergio Parisse captains the side.

These teams have met four times in European competition, although the latest of those meetings was back in 1999, when Leinster prevailed 24-23. The French side, however, won the previous three by an aggregate score of 123-54.

Stade Francais have a good away record in this competition, having won four of their five matches on the road in this year’s campaign, but in the Top 14 they lost eleven of their thirteen away games.
